For as long as I can remember, my aunt had stained glass hanging in her window. She had pieces from all over the world, each one handcrafted by a stained glass artist.
She had small ones and larger ones, all created by various artists. They were beautiful to look at and when the sun hit them there brilliance shone through.
She loved them all, but there was one piece that hung in her kitchen window and she often referred to it as her “motivational stained glass”. She told me that she hung this particular piece in her kitchen window where she would see it every day.
The stained glass piece, which she was referring to, was a rainbow. And on the rainbow someone had written the saying:
“Remember, to make rainbows you need sun and rain.”
The motivational stained glass piece was one of the smaller pieces of her wonderful collection and was certainly not the most beautiful piece. I asked her why she kept it there. She said it gave her motivation on days when presented challenges. It reminded her that we need to have some bad times to appreciate the good times. And, on the days when life was good, it always reminded her that life doesn’t get any better than this.
She said that in life we sometimes need small reminders to stay focused on the more important things in life. And, this piece of stain glass was her reminder that even when things were difficult the rainbow was there and would come out to shine.
I was at our local farmers market and found a stained glass rainbow similar to the one my aunt had hanging in her window. The one I bought did not have the saying on it, but every time I look at it I can remember my aunt’s words and the saying. . .
“To make rainbows you need sun and rain”.

There is always something good,
In everything in life.
We may not realize it at first,
And it may feel like strife.
So what we need to do,
When something comes our way.
Is take a look at all the sides,
And find the good to say.
In every situation,
No matter what first appears.
Find the good that is always there,
And change that fear to cheer.
If you find the good that’s there,
And always remember to do.
Life will be much happier,
And problems won’t seem so blue.
Thanksgiving for me is the Macy’s Day Parade, pumpkin pie, family, feeling lazy and being thankful.
Whatever Thanksgiving is or is not to you enjoy the day doing your own thing.
Today’s random thoughts include:
Remember, you are NOT alone! Until next time — Jenn 💜
I am always thankful and blessed but after this last week, I feel it immensely! Be safe! Be kind! Be blessed. You may not even know the dealings of those around you.
Where is time going?
Before we know it Thanksgiving dinner will be over and people will be trampling each other Thanksgiving night shopping. Because Black Friday just seems to be a thing of the past.

I know many people do NOT like Halloween and that is okay.
I am a Halloween girl. My Grandmother loved Halloween, seeing all of us dressed up and creative but also getting the visit from her family!
Halloween should be a day to feel like a kid. Be whatever you are afraid of or even just embrace the spookiness. I do not embrace the dark or bad parts that Halloween can encompass. Just the fun!!
So to all my fellow Spookers out there, I leave you with these…
Today, when I woke up and saw the news I was so sad. This crazy world we live in just keeps getting crazier.
I have no ideas, no opinions and no information to offer in light of new current events. I am just trying to offer some hope, positivity, and something different.
Normally on Thursday’s, I do random thoughts most of the funny nature but today I am going to be a little more serious. I have been very quiet lately because my life has been so chaotic and honestly, no one would read what my chaotic mind writes. 🙂
